Andrew Ladis Memorial Trecento Conference

This conference is held every other year in honor of art historian Andrew Ladis (1949 – 2007), Franklin Professor of Art History at the Lamar Dodd School of Art and a key figure in the development of our museum’s collection from the 1980s to early 2000s. The conference is the only gathering of its kind, emphasizing 14th-century Italian art as a fruitful area of research and academic dialogue. The conference is organized by the museum in collaboration with the Trecento Forum, a network of scholars dedicated to advancing studies in how art was created and experienced in late medieval Italy. Combined with the display of the museum’s newly installed Kress Collection — which includes multiple 14th-century works — the conference will offer an unparalleled opportunity for established and emerging scholars to network, collaborate and share their research. Full symposium schedule and registration information.
