Pre-K–12 Field Trips and Tours
You want your students to look closer. Think deeper. See differently.
A worksheet shows the what. A gallery shows the why. When students stand before original works of art, something quiet clicks. These programs aren’t about memorizing facts. They’re about seeing the world, then seeing it differently. Spark your students’ curiosity and creativity through free guided and self-guided tours.
Field Trips
Field trips are available by appointment Tuesday – Friday, scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wonder starts with a question and sometimes the most meaningful ones come from teachers.
Of course! Once your students step back into the classroom, we want the learning to keep going. That’s why our teacher resources are designed to extend the museum experience into your day-to-day teaching. You’ll find downloadable packets, art-based lesson plans and exhibition guides, each created with flexibility in mind.
These materials work across disciplines and age levels, making them just as useful for a second-grade art class as a high school social studies unit. If you’re teaching remotely or need something more specific, we’ll work with you to create or recommend content that fits.
We provide museum education in Athens for learners everywhere, regardless of where or how they learn. Many teachers turn to our Art at Home activities for additional inspiration. No matter your teaching style, we’ve crafted these resources to support you, before, during and long after your visit to the museum.
Many of our guided and self-guided tours include time in the studio classroom, where students get to create something of their own. No need to worry about skill level because we’ll tailor the activity to match your group’s age, pace and curriculum goals.
Want a sneak peek? Explore our Youth and Family Programs or browse the Art at Home archive for sample projects that reflect the kind of hands-on creativity our programs include.
