
The Georgia Museum of Art and its Friends Board of Directors share the mission of the University of Georgia to support and promote teaching, research and service.
On August 16, the Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art welcomed three new members to their Board of Directors. This organization comprises dedicated community members with a love of visual art. The Friends Board of Directors works to promote art education and inspire a passion for the museum and its mission.
Greta Covington
Greta Covington is a UGA alum with a master’s degree in historic preservation, with an emphasis in architectural history, landscape history, art history, decorative arts and contemporary art. She was formerly the president of the Junior Ladies Club and the Athens Academy Alumni Board. Covington also has experience in the non-profit sector, having worked with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and Athens Academy. She is a former session member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served on both the flower and nominating committees. Covington has previously served on the museum’s Elegant Salute planning committee and assisted with the event’s floral décor. She was also involved with a flower and art exhibition cohosted by the museum and the Junior Ladies Garden Club.
Tiffany Hines
Tiffany Hines is a native Athenian and UGA alum with a bachelor’s degree in education. She is currently the owner of Global Escapes Travel. Hines was formerly a board member and fundraising event chair for the Junior League of Athens. She was also on the Board of Directors for the Athens Chamber of Commerce and the American Society of Travel Advisors. Hines’ other volunteer experience includes the Athens-Oconee Junior Women’s Club. She is also a longtime member of the museum and the Collectors.
Mary Anna Terrell
Mary Anna Terrell is a UGA alum with a bachelor’s degree in education as well as a native Athenian. She is currently a member of the museum’s Decorative Arts Advisory Committee. Terrell has served on the museum’s Elegant Salute planning committee and assisted with floral décor for the event. She was also involved with a joint flower and art exhibition cohosted by the museum and the Junior Ladies Garden Club.
