Friends Appreciation Month at the museum

Museum Friend and Annual Fund Member Wade LaFontaine stands outside of the University of Georgia president's office, which was formerly the Georgia Museum of Art.

The Georgia Museum of Art is celebrating Friends Appreciation Month now through September 30. Anyone who enjoys art and is curious about the museum’s exhibitions and programs can become a Friend for free(opens in new tab). Anyone who becomes a Friend or Annual Fund Member through the end of the month will be automatically entered into drawings for a chance to win various prizes. Friends receive digital membership cards, discounted registration to select museum events and digital communications including the Weekly Brief, event invitations and Facet(opens in new tab).

A majority of the museum’s exhibitions, educational events and programs are paid for with private, not public funds. Contributions to the museum’s Annual Fund help pay for everything we do, including statewide outreach and programs, many of which are free to all. Your support ensures that museum admission remains free as we strive to make our community and state a more culturally vibrant place to live.

Hear directly from Wade LaFontaine on his experience as a Friend and Annual Fund Member of the museum.

As part of the festivities, we’ll be officially launching our new digital membership cards next week. Getting these ready to go has been a long and involved process, but we’re very excited about them. All Friends should receive an email from Cuseum after the holiday weekend with instructions on how to download the cards to a digital wallet on their phone. There’s a frequently asked questions page(opens in new tab) that explains the process.
