The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia will host its triannual Museum Mix on Thursday, October 5, from 8 to 11 pm. Attendees may enjoy open galleries, free refreshments and a live DJ. The late-night art party is free and open to the public.
The DJ will be local high school student and experimental musician Oliver Domingo, who said, “I will play jazz, funk, disco, electronic, easy listening as well as library music. A lot of this music is from some of the most talented yet unsung heroes of the 1970s and 1980s. Some of the tracks are meant to dance with, while others encourage you to use your imagination and paint a picture in your mind.”
Marti’s at Midday and Big City Bread Cafe will provide free food.
Exhibitions on view include “Southern/Modern,” “Where Shadows Cross: Photography by Jim Fiscus” (in its final week), “In Dialogue: Power Couple: Pierre and Louise Daura in Paris,” “Power and Piety in 17th-Century Spanish Art” and “Decade of Tradition: Highlights from the Larry D. and Brenda A. Thompson Collection,” as well as the permanent collection galleries.
