DJ Goth Dad for October Museum Mix

10.06.2022

To celebrate the spooky season, Georgia Museum of Art’s October Museum Mix will feature Athen’s own DJ Goth Dad, Dusty Gannon. Gannon has been a staple in the Athens music scene for the last few years as the front person of local goth-pop, post-punk band Vision Video. Their musical influences include The Cure, Joy Division and The Clash. The band’s masterful blend of punk rock and danceable pop is the same style Gannon plans to evoke for this month’s Museum Mix.

“I’m so excited to DJ the Museum Mix for the Georgia Museum of Art because it’s such an atypical place to spin. I am really excited to try to blend a good mix of fun and atmosphere, with an overall October / spooky vibe. It’s going to be a blast to share my love with the artistry of music amidst the physical medium of art!”

Museum Mix will take place Thursday, October 6, from 8 to 11 pm at the main lobby of the Georgia Museum of Art. Free Food will be provided by our event sponsors Marti’s at Midday, Big City Bread and White Tiger Gourmet. Guests will have access to open galleries, free refreshments and a live DJ. As always, the event is free and open to the public.

In preparation for the festivities, here is a playlist curated by Gannon showcasing the best in goth and pop music.
