For Toddler Tuesday this month we’re celebrating autumn! We harvest lots of fruits and vegetables during this time of year.
Check out this painting of fruit. This style of painting is called a “still life.” How many pieces of fruit do you see? What color is it?

Now it is your turn to paint fruit. Literally! Choose a pumpkin, an apple or even a banana, and cover it in paint!
For this activity you will need:
- a piece or two of fruit
- paint
- paper plate
- paintbrush
- newspaper

Directions:
- Spread out newspaper or kraft paper on your work surface for easy clean-up.
- Put three different colors of paint on your plate. A quarter-sized amount of each color is enough. Add more as needed.
- Encourage your young artist to cover the fruit with paint. Let them decide where the paint should go and what colors they would like to use.
- When the paint is dry, your table’s centerpiece is ready for display.
