For Toddler Tuesday this month, we’re thinking about springtime and birds!
In the springtime the weather warms up. It feels nice to spend time outside. When you go outside do you see any animals?
Take a closer look at this painting. What do you see? Can you imagine what kind of animals would live in the trees? Or in the water? Where would you look to find birds?

Sometimes birds live in a special box in a tree called a birdhouse. Now it is your turn to decorate a birdhouse for the birds that live in your neighborhood.
For this activity you will need:
- a birdhouse (wood or cardboard kits or patterns can be found online)
- paint
- paintbrush
- water
- newspaper or kraft paper
To make your birdhouse:
- Spread out the newspaper or kraft paper for easier clean-up.
- Assemble the birdhouse.
- Help your young artist decorate it using paint.
- When the paint is dry, place it in a safe place somewhere outside.
