Toddler Tuesday: Color Adventures

11.05.2025

For this Toddler Tuesday, we are going to look at colorful art by Emma Amos and read “I Like Myself” by Karen Beaumont.

Let’s take a closer look at this painting. What do you see? Can you find different colors? Do you see two people? One of them is looking up at us. What else do you see? Talk to someone you are with about it.

Emma Amos (American, 1937 – 2020), “Seated Figure and Nude,” 1966. Oil on canvas, 56 x 50 inches. Emanuel Family Collection.

Here is a picture of the artist who made this. Her name is Emma Amos.

What did you think of that book? Do you like your eyes and ears? your nose? your fingers and your toes? There’s no one else in the world like you, and that makes you very special.

Now that we have read a book and looked at art together, it’s your turn to make art.
