Make Art a Shared Experience
Whether you’re planning a field trip, team retreat or family outing, we make museum group tours in Athens simple, flexible and meaningful. This is where curiosity comes to life, connecting people to art, ideas and each other.
Make the Most of Your Visit
An Experience for Everyone
Group visits spark curiosity and foster connection, whether with classmates, coworkers or loved ones, regardless of individual backgrounds. Sharing art shares perspectives and emotions that inspire learning, dialogue and appreciation.
Planning & Admission
Tickets are free, but we ask that you schedule your group visit at least two weeks in advance to ensure our staff can create an engaging experience for your group. We offer flexible guided and self-guided tour options, both in-person and online, for groups of five or more. The Georgia Museum of Art is ADA-compliant, offering accessible parking, wheelchair assistance and assistive learning devices to ensure everyone can wander and wonder comfortably. Tours for the Deaf and hard of hearing are available by appointment.
Arrival & Check-In
Groups arriving by bus may unload at the Performing Arts Center turnaround near Lot E11 on River Road. Buses must park in designated areas past the intramural fields by the Redcoat Band practice field. Please arrive on time to ensure our volunteer guides are ready to welcome you. If your plans change, please call us to help adjust your plans and ensure a smooth, safe and engaging experience for everyone.
Museum Etiquette
We ask that all chaperones and teachers stay with their groups and support the docent in keeping everyone engaged and respectful. Please do not touch the artworks to help protect them for future visitors and allow other guests to enjoy their tours. If your group visits the Museum Shop, limit it to five people at a time for everyone’s comfort. Most importantly, enjoy your visit. Our museum group tours in Athens expose your group to a diverse collection with something to inspire everyone, so all questions and shared observations are welcome.
