Here’s how to enjoy the museum your way.
Hours & Admission
The Georgia Museum of Art is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. General admission is free every day for everyone. Reserve your tickets online(opens in new tab), check in at the front desk when you arrive and explore as long as you’d like.
Parking & Accessibility
The Georgia Museum of Art is located on the University of Georgia’s East Campus near the Lamar Dodd School of Art and the Ramsey Student Center. Parking is available in the Performing Arts Center deck and surface lots behind Lot E11. Weekday parking requires payment via meter or the ParkMobile app, and parking is free on weekends. Accessible parking is available directly beneath the museum. Please contact the museum to arrange for groups arriving by bus and for additional transportation support.
Museum Rules
You’re welcome to look, learn and linger, but please help us protect the art. We ask that you do not touch the artworks and respect the space. To preserve our collection, we do not allow food or drink in gallery spaces, but you’re welcome to enjoy them on the first floor, where snacks are available at the Museum Shop. Unless otherwise specified, photography without flash is permitted. Also, large bags and umbrellas must be checked at the coatroom. Your cooperation helps us ensure a safe, enjoyable visit for everyone.

No. You’re welcome to explore the museum on your own during open hours, but if you’d prefer a guided experience for your group, we’re here to make arrangements. We offer tours tailored to your group’s needs, so please submit a request for your tour at least two weeks ahead of your visit.

From wheelchair-accessible entrances to assistive listening devices, we offer inclusive experiences to ensure every museum field trip in Athens is comfortable and meaningful for everyone.
