The Georgia Museum of Art refreshes our art exhibitions in Athens seasonally to invite new perspectives and allow untold stories to unfold. This rhythm allows returning visitors to engage with new works of art at every visit, making each experience uniquely valuable. Outside of our in-person exhibitions, we welcome guests to explore our online exhibitions anytime, anywhere, sharing more art with more people beyond the museum walls.
Yes. Art is for everyone, so exhibitions at the Georgia Museum of Art are open to the public free of charge. Exceptions occur only for special ticketed events, which we communicate clearly to ensure you can plan your visit accordingly and enjoy art at your own pace, on your own terms.
While we don’t require reservations if you’re not booking a tour, we recommend reserving tickets in advance to guarantee your entry, especially during special exhibitions and events. To schedule a guided group tour for five or more people, please schedule your visit two weeks in advance to ensure our staff is available and can provide a tailored, memorable experience for everyone.
Yes. While you’re always welcome to explore the museum independently, we also provide guided tours that illuminate the stories behind our art exhibits in Athens. Available for classes, families and adult visitors, we tailor our guided tours to help your group connect deeply with new perspectives and one another.
The Georgia Museum of Art welcomes guests of all ages, inviting wonder and reflection across generations.
