All text, images and other materials on this website are protected by U.S. and international copyright laws and follow guidelines established by the Association of Art Museum Directors(opens in new tab).

Copyrights and other proprietary rights may be held by individuals and entities other than, and in addition to the Georgia Museum of Art. Unauthorized use, including reproducing, transmitting, distributing and displaying, of any protected materials on this website is prohibited, except for fair-use purposes as defined in the copyright laws and as described below.

Fair Use

Unless otherwise noted, materials, including text and image files, from the Georgia Museum of Art’s website may be downloaded or printed solely for noncommercial educational and/or personal use, without the Georgia Museum of Art’s advance written permission, provided that:

• Only a single copy is downloaded or printed;
• Materials are not modified in any way; and
• Any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices that have been placed in the materials by the Georgia Museum of Art are not removed.

Commercial Use

Commercial use of the Georgia Museum of Art’s materials is expressly prohibited without prior written permission from the museum. Permission for such use is granted at the sole discretion of the Georgia Museum of Art on a case-by-case basis. There may be a usage fee involved depending on the nature and type of the proposed use, and third-party copyright holders may also need to be contacted for permission. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain permission from the third-party copyright owner or administrator.

Records in the online collections database have been compiled from historic documentation and may or may not have been reviewed by museum curatorial staff prior to online posting.
