Art Adventures

Have a summer adventure with art

Free, immersive art education

Every summer, the Georgia Museum of Art offers Art Adventures, a free, immersive art education experience to local children from summer camps, daycares and community centers. Sessions include gallery tours, sensory experiences, games and hands-on art activities tailored to different age groups. Roughly 500 children participate each year.

Past Art Adventures have focused on soundscapes, the five senses, travel and photography, being an art detective and exploring the elements of art. The goal is to provide a positive museum experience. Children cherish the fun and fascinating experiences they have during Art Adventures, which instills within them a lifelong love for art in all of its many forms.

Art Adventures is offered in morning and afternoon time slots on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during June and July. Each 90-minute session can accommodate up to 30 children, with one chaperone for every 10 kids.

Art Adventures 2026: World Travelers

Day camps, daycares and community centers are invited to take part in this free summer program, with morning and afternoon time slots available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from June 9 to July 22. Inspired by art across the world, students will travel the globe through the museum’s permanent collection.

Each 90-minute session will include gallery tours, games and an art activity. Each session can accommodate up to 30 children, with one chaperone for every 10 kids. To schedule your group’s Art Adventure, contact gmoa-tours@uga.edu or call 706.542.0439.
