Family Day: Longleaf Lines and Pines
- This event has passed.
Saturday, October 29• 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Longleaf pine forests are one of the most biologically rich ecosystems in the world, second only to tropical rainforests. Artist Kristin Leachman captures the tree’s marvelously scaly and fire-resistant surface in her large-scale paintings. Check out her paintings, participate in an “Animals of the Forest” demonstration by UGA’s Warnell School of Forestry and take home your own pine tree after you decorate a planter in the Michael and Mary Erlanger Studio Classroom. Our photo booth will be taking green-screen pictures in the lobby, which we post later on Flickr and Facebook with an arty background.
For those who cannot attend in-person, Family Day To-Go Kits available for pick-up starting at 1p.m. Saturday through the end of day Sunday while supplies last.
Family Day is sponsored by Lucy and Buddy Allen and the Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art.
