This 1971 documentary film highlights the life and work of African American artists: painter Charles White, collage artist Romare Bearden, sculptor Barbara Chase-Riboud, sculptor Richard Hunt and Betty Blayton, co-founder of the Studio Museum in Harlem. The film explores each artist’s creative process, sources of inspiration and perspective on life and the African American experience. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition “Richard Hunt: Synthesis.” Directed by Vicki Kodama. 1971, NR, 30 min.
