DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nMario Erasmo, professor and head of the University of Georgia’s department of classics, will give a gallery talk on “Edmonia Lewis: Said in Stone.” He will examine Lewis’ art through his expertise on the reception of classical antiquity and explore the influence of the Greek War of Independence on the U.S. abolitionist movement.\n*We expect a higher turnout than usual for this drop-in tour.
