The W. Newton Morris Charitable Foundation

The W. Newton Morris Charitable Foundation gives primarily for programs that further public awareness of American, European and Asian (including those cultures defined as Oriental and Islamic) decorative art, paintings, drawings and prints representative of these cultures, for use solely within the United States or its possessions.

Morris served on the museum’s Board of Advisors from 1994 to 1998 and supported numerous exhibitions and activities at the museum. Born in Dublin, Ga., in 1925, Morris attended the University of Georgia. With his father, he founded the Morris Bank of Dublin in 1954 and served as vice president until 1980. He also owned and operated radio station WMLT and had numerous other business interests in Dublin and Laurens County.
