Travel to Charlotte with the Collectors

The Collectors of the Georgia Museum of Art will be traveling to Charlotte, N.C., with day trips to Winston-Salem, N.C., Spartanburg, S.C., and Greenville, S.C., Sept. 16–19. The itinerary is as follows:

Tuesday, Sept. 16
Private tour of the Johnson Collection (Spartanburg, S.C.)
Lunch at e2 Emeril’s Eatery (Charlotte, N.C.)
Tour of the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture
Tour the Foundation for the Carolinas

Wednesday, Sept. 17
Day Trip to Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (Winston Salem, N.C.)
Private, extended tour of the collection co-led by Georgia Museum of Art curator of decorative arts Dale Couch
Lunch at The Tavern in Old Salem
Access to Old Town Salem, including the gardens and landscapes of Old Salem

Thursday, Sept. 18
Talk with William U. Eiland: Ben Long Frescoes at Bank of America Corporate Center (Charlotte, N.C.)
Tour of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art
Private lunch at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art
Tour of the Mint Museum–Uptown, featuring the permanent collection and the special exhibition "Beyond Craft: Decorative Arts from the Leatrice S. and Melvin B Eagle Collection"
Tour of the Mint Museum–Randolph Road, featuring the permanent collection
Dinner at Napa on Providence

Friday, Sept. 19
Tour of the Greenville County Museum permanent collection with highlight notes from Dale Couch on David Drake's pottery and Bill Eiland on Leo Twiggs (Greenville, S.C.)
Lunch at The Lazy Goat, on the river
Tour of Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery

The price is $1,245 single occupancy and $1,595 double occupancy and includes round-trip transportation from Athens and group transportation to all planned activities, hotel accommodation at The Omni Hotel–Charlotte, admission and tour fees for all museums, four group lunches and one group dinner.
