Michele Bogart is an art historian with expertise in the social history of public art, urban design and commercial culture in the United States. A specialist on topics ranging from public monuments to advertising, she has published on public art, memorials, animation, landscape and garden history, photography and illustration. Her talk, titled "Public Art and Process in New York City," comes from research for a book-length study on public sculpture in New York City from the period spanning Cold War and culture wars. Cosponsored by UGA's Willson Center for Humanities and Arts and department of history.
